"DayJet travel is about flexibility, convenience and control. But most of all, DayJet is about time. Your time. Our vision is to create a personalized air transportation network that responds to your needs and makes direct, on-demand regional transportation an affordable reality for you."
A prominent high-tech entrepreneur and system software expert, Ed's technology vision is matched by his proven management and leadership skills. In 1998, Ed was recognized as the top entrepreneur in the world with the prestigious CNN, USA Today and Ernst & Young "International Entrepreneur of the Year" award..
A long time veteran of the technology industry, Ed began his career at IBM where he was a key part of Big Blue's entry into the commercial software business — first in the network management arena (NetView) and later in the Entry Systems (Personal Computer) division with architecture and design leadership responsibilities for IBM DOS and OS/2. Ed led the joint IBM-Microsoft design team that launched the modern era of multi-tasking personal computing operating systems.
In 1989, Ed left IBM to co-found a new company to explore and implement his vision of server-based computing, Citrix Systems, Inc. Ed served as Citrix chairman through 2000, when he retired to pursue his interests in aviation.
Together with his wife Nancy, Ed turned his focus to Wingedfoot Services LLC in May 1999 and made their Bombardier Learjet 60 aircraft available for charter through a traditional on-demand operator. Things have never been the same since then. In January 2002, Ed co-founded DayJet Corporation with the mission of bringing affordable and accessible "Per-Seat, On-Demand" jet travel to many more people and organizations.
